Having earned its place in history when it opened in 1891, Provident Hospital began a new chapter when the now modern facility repoened in 1993, Renamed Provident Hosptial of Cook County, it is one of seven healthcare entities that make up the Cook County Bureau of Health Services, one of the largest public healthcare systems in the country.
